A Relaxing Time in Snowy Aspen
My wife and I decided to take a vacation for a little rest and relaxation, and at the top of our list of places to go was Aspen, Colorado. We always wanted to ski on the slopes of Aspen, even though neither of us knew how to ski. We looked at some Aspen luxury rentals for a nice cabin that we could stay in while on our vacation. If you’re going to go somewhere, you might as well be there in the lap of luxury. Right in the heart of Aspen was a nice three bedroom luxury log cabin loaded with more amenities than anyone could ever want.
As soon as my wife and I got to Aspen, we went to the cabin, lit the fireplace, and sat in front of it while drinking some hot chocolate. The next day we had a ski lesson with an instructor where we learned the basics to get us moving. We did the pizza and french fries technique, which was basically opening and closing our feet to make triangles and parallel lines. The french fries are for normal traction and the pizza is for stopping. My wife would use the pizza every five seconds because she was afraid that she would fall.
My wife and I won’t be entering any ski competitions anytime soon, but we did have some fun learning how to ski. We were able to make it down a hill without landing face first in the snow. All of that skiing put us in the mood for a hot bath, so we filled up the walk in tub with some hot water, a fragrant soap, and lit some candles. We had a great time in Aspen, and the next time we come back, we’re going to try the more advanced ski course.
