KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — Malaysia has gained the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Award 2020 in the “Tourism for All” class by the digital tourism for senior citizens initiative pioneered by Taylor’s University.

Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Musa Yusof, who is also PATA Malaysian Chapter chairman, mentioned the Taylor’s University accomplishment would further strengthen the country’s branding and marketing and advertising as a significant tourism spot.

“We hope this year’s accomplishment can inspire and encourage our (tourism) sector to shift forward with more sustainable and accountable initiatives in line with Covid-19 restoration measures,” he mentioned in a statement right here, currently.

The PATA Gold Award, initiated in 1984, is a recognition for excellence, innovation and best tourism specifications in the vacation and tourism sector.

The winners were being announced at the PATA Gold Awards presentation on September 24, as section of the Virtual PATA Travel Mart 2020. — Bernama
